Fees for Services

Idaho does NOT require a license for permanent cosmetics--anyone can do it anywhere without passing a test. A bad makeup tattoo on your face is permanent until it is removed, if it can be. Permanent makeup is an invasive process that requires blood borne pathogen control to protect you. Unfortunately, Idaho does NOT require inspections of cosmetic tattoo artists, their equipment, or facilities. Without licensing standards or health safety regulations, your face and health are at risk. Permanent makeup is not a service to buy on impulse or with a coupon. This is an investment in YOU, so please do research to find the most qualified professional…you are worth it!

Why Choose Artistic Cosmetic Solutions?
Dr. Laura Reed, OD, CPCP, FAAM offers everything for top quality permanent cosmetics: Artistry, safety, knowledge, experience, and trust. Her permanent makeup is natural looking and customized to your face and liking. Being an Optometric Physician, her ability to follow strict infection control standards is second nature. She is both a Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional and a Fellow in the American Academy of Micropigmentation—credentials that are examination-based and recognized internationally. Since 2006, she has performed nearly 5,000 procedures and has provided cosmetic tattooing on men and women of all ages and races. Her patients travel from all over, refer others often, and give excellent reviews-- because she truly cares about them and strives to please them.

Free Permanent Makeup Consultations
Consultations with Dr. Reed are free and last 30 minutes. You will meet her, see her procedure room, ask questions not answered on this website, have photos taken of your own makeup, and schedule your procedure date if desired. Due to time limits, a free consultation does not include makeup designing (scroll down to “Optional Makeup Design Appointment”). Two people can attend a consultation at the same time. For out-of-town patients, a consult can be made by telephone or email. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a consultation.

Permanent Makeup Fees Include:
Initial consultation with Pre-Procedure instructions; Complete medical history and review; Analysis and measurement of face shape and features; Custom makeup designing with YOUR final approval of design; Custom blending of pigments for most flattering color; Sterile single-use needles and digital safety equipment; Disposable protective coverings on exposed surfaces; After care kit with supplies and instructions; One follow-up procedure (touch-up) within 60 days. Please allow 3-4 hours for initial procedure visit.

Optional Makeup Design Appointment
All makeup procedure appointments allow enough time for custom design with your approval before tattooing. However, if you want to “test drive” an eyebrow, eyeliner, or lip design awhile before tattooing, this appointment is your “safety net.” A separate appointment will be scheduled prior to your procedure. You will receive a facial analysis and trial application of conventional makeup to get an idea of the design of your permanent makeup. Fee is $95 per area. If your procedure is performed within 30 days of the design appointment, $35 will be deducted from your procedure fee.

Permanent Makeup Maintenance
Maintenance fees apply to refreshers or touchups of Dr. Reed's own micropigmentation work (returning patients). Cost varies according to length of time since last procedure, amount of fading, and work required. Fees start at $100.

Permanent Makeup Done by Another Person
Recoloring permanent makeup done previously by anyone else is not “just a touch-up” for Dr. Reed since it was not her original work. Therefore, fees start at the new permanent makeup prices. Additional charges will apply if extensive shape and symmetry correction is required or pigment removal is necessary.

Permanent Makeup Lightening or Removal
Dr. Reed is certified to remove (lift) or lighten pigment using non-laser methods such as Tattoo Vanish. If you are a candidate for the process, cost will depend upon the location and size of the tattoo and number of sessions for satisfactory lightening. Multiple sessions are usually necessary for best results. Price quote will be given at consultation.

Areola-Nipple Tattooing for Breast Cancer Patients: Post-Mastectomy
Due to complicated new health care laws, Dr. Reed cannot bill your medical insurance for this procedure. Fee is $375 per breast and includes one follow-up (touch-up) procedure within 60 days of the first session. You will be given an itemized receipt with CPT and Diagnosis codes needed by insurance companies. It is required by law that your medical insurance company covers this procedure. However, you may need to follow-up several times with them to be reimbursed. Unilateral mastectomy patients may need a spot color test to match the color of the remaining breast (see below).

Spot Color Testing
A spot test procedure helps determine the best color match to surrounding skin tones. It is required for any area larger than 1/2 square inch. Fee is $150. A credit of $50 will be applied toward the initial tattoo session fee. The test pigments must heal a minimum of 30-45 days before camouflage tattooing sessions can begin. If camouflage tattooing is performed without a spot test, a signed waiver will be required.

Scar and Skin Camouflage Tattooing
Scar or skin repigmentation can begin after the spot test has healed. Since scar tissue is abnormal, multiple sessions are usually needed to achieve satisfactory results. Price quote will be given at consultation. Note: Due to the complex nature of medical tattooing and the requirement of many visits, Dr. Reed cannot accept new patients for this procedure who are not local (except for breast cancer patients).

Micro Needling for Natural Wrinkle and Scar Reduction
Fees start at $95 per treatment area (ex. forehead, lip area, cheeks, eye area). Full facial needling starts at $200 - per treatment. Several visits are usually necessary to achieve desired results. Discounts and/or bonuses are available for multiple treatment packages. Treatments should be scheduled 6-8 weeks apart.

Payment Methods and Gift Certificates
Payment in full must be made when services are rendered. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, and MasterCard. Gift certificates can be purchased for any type of procedure. They are valid for one year and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Fees and policies are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to decline service to anyone.
